Another tremendous attendance at East Horsley Village Hall to witness the new-style SPA Print Championships and a closely fought battle between the clubs with a photo-finish at the end. (Sorry, couldn’t resist that.)

Well, the day finally arrived and last Saturday saw the first SPA InterClub PDI Championship battle at East Horsley. What a great turnout and what a tremendous entry from 30 clubs – 600 images from almost 300 photographers.
So, we’d like your feedback on the event. Did you enjoy it? Do we need a bigger hall next year? Did we achieve our aim of getting greater participation ?

Now that we are changing to the Day Championship format for the InterClub Competitions, you will no longer be required to visit other clubs as was previously the case with the knock-out format.
To encourage interaction between clubs, here’s an idea for a new club-v-club competition where you decide the rules! Not intended to replace the annual SPA InterClub Competition but may encourage your club to have a little fun with other clubs in the SPA.

There are 53 member clubs in the Surrey Photographic Association but many do not actually participate in SPA events such as the InterClub Competition and attendance at meetings such as the AGM and the Club Officers meeting rarely exceed 50%.
